Expanding
Teen Programming
JCC Greater Boston’s teen programs continue to expand, offering teens enriching
opportunities to explore diverse topics, deepen their sense of identity, and create
meaningful connections with their peers.
The Diller Teen Fellows deepened their engagement in Jewish identity and
leadership, hosting fellows from Haifa in April and preparing for an
immersive summer experience in Israel. Twenty-five teen athletes—
our largest delegation in years—will represent Greater Boston at
the JCC Maccabi Games, the world’s largest Jewish youth sporting
event. Meanwhile, new initiatives are flourishing, including the
Jewish Story Lab, a pilot middle school program exploring Jewish identity
through storytelling, culminating in powerful student-created final projects. And
summer kicks off in style with our Teen Pool Party on June 21, expecting over 100 teens for an
unforgettable celebration.
This spring we also began the exciting process of integrating Jewish Teen Initiative (JTI) into our
roster of JCC Greater Boston teen programs, including the impactful Peer Leadership Fellows
program. This significant expansion of our teen program strengthens our commitment to empowering
Jewish teens through leadership development, community building, and meaningful engagement.
The Peer Leadership Fellowship, launching its 10th year this fall, trains and empowers teens in grades
10 through 12 to become communal connectors. Fellows reimagine how they can develop meaningful
relationships with their peers, helping to create a more connected and inclusive community for teens throughout
Greater Boston.
We have even more in store for next school year:
Community Service Days, empowering teens with the tools
they need to take action (while earning community service
hours!)
Carmel Dreamers, which connects teens to Israeli Jewish
and Druze teens in Haifa
Moving Traditions, where teens can explore who they are,
challenge harmful gender norms, and build community
Black/Jewish Teen Initiative, in partnership with YMCA of
Greater Boston
Classes and workshops that teach real-world skills
Sports tournaments and expanded teen fitness options
