A YEAR ONE UPDATE
Elevate. Amplify. Engage:
JCC Greater Boston’s Strategic Plan
Our goal is to seed, nurture, and grow an expansive,
affirming, connected, and evolving vision for Jewish life
that strengthens us all.
In March 2024, JCC Greater Boston’s Board approved
a three-year strategic plan designed to guide our
work in service of our mission. Since then, we have
made significant progress toward our three primary
goals: Expanding Reach, Fostering Opportunity, and
Strengthening the Core, and are primed for meaningful
next steps in the coming year.
EXPAND REACH
Our overarching goal is to expand the JCC’s outreach
and programming to meet the needs of an increasingly
dispersed and diverse Jewish community, and we
have done so through building relationships in novel
geographies, investing in key audiences, and growing
our partnerships across Greater Boston. Some highlights

current and prospective participants, partners, and
funders are key to our ability to meet our organizational

on clarifying and amplifying the JCC’s brand, identity, and
messaging, and investing in our incredible supporters
to deepen their commitment to fueling the JCC’s
transformative work. Some highlights include:
1.
2. Growing our community of lay leaders and volunteers
through new and refreshed committees, task forces,
and innovation-focused events;
3. Undertaking a feasibility study to help us
understand our community better and prepare for a
comprehensive campaign for the JCC.
Bringing “Little Wonders,” our new, sensory Shabbat
series to Congregation Eitz Chayim in Cambridge and
Temple Ohabei Shalom in Brookline;
2.
Hiring a Director of Teen Programs and expanding our
teen offerings to include new social events, fitness
programs, and immersive leadership cohorts;
3.
Collaborating with our colleagues at 2Life
Communities to prepare meaningful partnerships

Newton this fall.
Undergoing a comprehensive rebranding process,
resulting in a fresh, unified visual identity for the JCC
and all its programs;
STRENGTHEN THE CORE
We know that none of our mission-driven work is possible
without meaningful investment in our staffing and systems.
We are working to strengthen our internal infrastructure to
increase our effectiveness, efficiency, and overall capacity,
continuing our commitment to organizational excellence.

1.
Growing and strengthening our HR team to attract,
develop, and retain our beloved workforce;
Reimagining our leadership development work with

One year in, we are focused, motivated, and inspired by the
progress we’ve made toward our goals. As we move into year
two of our strategy, it is our hope and our expectation that
our efforts will continue to enrich our community and bring
our vision of an expansive Jewish future to life.
