Exciting updates at the
Leventhal-Sidman Campus
Riemer Goldstein Theater: We are thrilled to have received a gift to renovate the Riemer Goldstein Theater. The renovation
will begin this September and be complete by the late fall. Not only will the aesthetics of the space be transformed to
match the rest of our now modern building, but we will be able to upgrade our technology, audio visual equipment, and
incorporate other features to allow this theater to be used more easily and frequently for performances, meetings, rentals
by our partner organizations, life cycle events, and so much more. We are thrilled to revitalize yet another space for the
entire Greater Boston community to enjoy!
Caplan’s Crossing: Greta Caplan was a JCC Greater Boston Early
Learning Center teacher for many decades, beginning her career
years in Brighton, before the current building was completed in
1983. When Greta passed away last year, her family decided to make
a donation in her honor to memorialize Greta in perpetuity. This
generous gift is underwriting a new play and gathering space outside
our front entry, specifically in front of the ELC dedicated entrance,
now named “Caplan’s Crossing.” We replaced the wooden train with
a new (but very similar) train for children to play on! We will also
add picnic tables, new landscaping, and a mural, commissioned by a
local artist, to complete the design. We are excited for this renovated
area to continue to modernize our building and serve as an exterior
community gathering space for our families.

JCafé: The wait is finally over! We’re proud to be re-opening the JCafé
in partnership with Catering by Andrew to provide fresh and delicious
dairy breakfast and lunch options for our community beginning this summer. Whether you’re on the go or sitting down to
connect with family and friends, our new and refreshed JCafé has everything you need to fuel your day. Plus, Catering by
Andrew will also be providing a selection of meat options all summer long by the Outdoor Pool! Menu options at the JCafé
include everything from avocado toast and Belgian waffles, to salads, sandwiches, pastas, and more. So many memories are
made and shared around food, and we can’t wait for you to try everything we have to offer in the JCafe!
